The Story of the Fates

The Story of the Fates

These three pieces mean so much to me as well as have much metaphorical meaning. I could expend reams of paper rambling about how important these all are and how, though they are very similar on the surface, they are worlds apart in my soul. But, what is important is the metaphor.

Collectively these pieces speak Time, Fate and Destini... Past, Present and Future... Heaven, Earth and Sea.... Star, Earth, Sun. These pieces were created before most of what they symbolize even existed. The metaphor intertwines the Norse belief in the Fates with my own faith in Destini.

Individually they speak ominous foretelling. These pieces meant more in hindsight than they did upon creation. Each represents a figure in my life during 2005. If you check out the poetry from that time You may find the three-headed goddess who moved my life and shaped my future. The Star (Triunity) is eternal, having never been there and never won't be. The Earth (Our Lady's Dancing Heart) follows me upon this plain (or I she) and joins me while this Earth is my home. The Flood is fluid. While it represents the Flood, it could represent the RainDrop, it could represent the Coast, it could represent the Brook, it could represent that which I have yet to realize. It is the Future... it is Fate. I will know it for sure once my journey ends. For so many rush to the finish line, the true joy of life is the living... the Earth... that which is the moment now.
